THE TOOTHLESS DOG

We were running helter-skelter
Trying to look for a shelter
Where we can bury our heads
And give our weary bones a break

From pillar to pole we run
With babies strapped at our backs
And heavy loads on our skulls.
from death we try to escape
Explosions are heard everywhere
Large flow of blood keeps accompanying the day

The farm products wither away
Since there is no one to eat it
Bombs have made us seen hunger in its true colour
Insecurity is the order of the day
Hullabaloo everywhere has robbed us of Education
Strange men have divided our national cake

Lying hopelessly at d refugee camp
Counting the number of stars in the sky
They never look real though
But I never stopped counting.

Our eyes are soaked with tears daily
Our mucus form empires in our nostrils
Our foots are sore from long journeys
Life is a choice, they say
But at times life chooses for you

Whatever we chose is our destiny
Whatever life chooses for you is your fate
This is our fate
We cannot run away from it
But tell life this choice is bad
Bad in the sense that
We are not longer breathing
But our body still respond to its stimuli

Wishing the rest of the inhabitants on Earth
A safe and better journey...
